Out of the ashes of Australia's devastating Bushfires comes Firebusters.com.au
FIREBUSTERS TO THE RESCUE
The severity of the past fire season has prompted two Victorian firefighters to develop a new service for farmers and emergency workers.
Firebusters has hit the market, filling the void in the availability of fire fighting and rescue equipment.Directors Ken Walker and Rob Ivers said finding professional gear had long been a problem for fire fighters and fire-conscious farmers.
"Most equipment comes from the United States where the equipment has been developed," Mr Walker said.
"But for too long Australians have not been able to access this gear."
He said farmers needed to start preparing themselves for the fire season with the latest equipment available to professional fire fighters.
"The beauty of Firebusters is that you don't need to be an expert, if you have the right equipment you can limit damage but you have to be prepared."
Mr Walker said farmers should check out products and advice at www.firebusters.com.au.
"A lot of farmers have called us and said they don't want the tear-dropped shaped pump, they want what the fire service use, but they are difficult to get outside the USA," he said. Mr Walker and Mr Ivers set up Firebusters offering all fire fighting necessities and vigourously testing hundreds of products they offer for sale."You can be assured our products are superior to similar items available at disposal stores.
"Australians need the best equipment to combat the ferocious fires we experience here and we've found the best available equipment and put it all together to make one of Australia's most comprehensive lists of fire fighting and emergency service equipment," Mr Walker said. Firebusters already boasts more than 250 products ranging from hoses to torches, emergency jackets, rescue tools and knives, but plans to have more than a thousand items ready for sale during the next year."Australian's really need to keep in touch with the latest to give them the best start to fighting a fire," Mr Walker said.
"We've got pumps, fire hoses and nossels, helmet torches, forcible entry gear aimed at emergency service personal, volunteers and career fire fighters alike."Fire fighting is such a niche market and the equipment is often hard
to come by and we wanted to fill that gap. "You see people using substandard gear and that's one of the reasons we've put together this business."
Clicking on to the Firebusters website proves just how easy Mr Walker and Mr Ivers have made it for potential users.

Firebusters also offers customer loyalty benefits through its membership scheme which starts from $12.95. Firebusters will donate two per cent of every sale and 10 per cent of membership fees to a fire fighting charity which will be chosen by all current members."The aim of the membership subscriptions, and thus members' involvement, will be to discuss and research issues in relation to fire fighting safety," Mr Walker said.
"And where possible, pass on recommendations and associated evidence to fire services."
Other membership benefits include a monthly newsletter, product discounts, voting rights on membership issues, first notifcation of limited stock sales, automatic equipment updates and access to a members-only website.Products purchased are tax deductible for industry workers and volunteers and the GST rebate is available to farming customers.
